Buddy Thornton Funeral Rites Held In Wortham Funeral services for Releford Marvin (Buddy) Thornton, 65, of Tehuacana, were held Sunday Sunday at 2 p.m. in Walker Chapel in Wortham. Mr. Thornton, a native of Tehuacana, Tehuacana, died Friday about 9 a.m. in the Wortham Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was a Mason. Mr. Thornton Thornton was a Baptist. He was the eldest son of Mrs. Joe Thornton Thornton of Tehuacana, and the late Mr. Thornton. Officiating was the Rev. Isaac Thornton of Fair field. Assisting Assisting was the Rev. Robert Benson, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Wortham. Surviving are his wife, Mary Billie, of Tehuacana; a son, Fred Thornton, of Salinas, Ca- his mother, of Tehuaca- three brothers, Tommy lif.; na; Thornton, Harry Thornton and Dick Thornton, all of Tehuacana Tehuacana ; and two sisters, Mrs. Roland Roland Chausse of Lubbock, and Mrs. J. K. Pelham of Waco. In 1941/he mTved Calif., where he was with the Department of Recreation for the State of California, until his retirement in 1966. He was making his home with his mother mother in Tehuacana. Pallbearers were F r 9 n k Dunn, Robert Dunn, Elijah Black, Cleo Ca'lame, Blake Erskine and Smith Cogdell. Burial was in the Wortham Cemetery, under direction of iWalker Funeral Home. ,
