GUTH FATALLY INJURED DIES TODAY tery. Aged Woman Could Not Survive Shock of Fall Last Thursday, 'Mistaking a door -in the rear of tha residence of her daughter Alice Swoyer, -No. 1320 Turner Street, for one lead ing into the yard, Mrs. Emeline J. widow of Wiilough'by W. Guth, fell down a flight of cellar stairs last Thursday, and yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock died from the result of the injuries sustained. Immediately after the accident occurred, Dr. Hope Ritter was summoned and found the aged lady suffering from a fractured col lar bone and a concussion of the brain. Last Thursday afternoon, Mrs. Guth was alone in the house W'ith the ex ception of a lady boarder. She was, when last seen, seated in the parlor and had no occasion to go to the part of th house where she met with the accident which caused her death. The first intimation that the other occu pant of the house had that aomething had happened to the deceased was when she heard a racket on the cellar steps. She ran to the top landing and saw Mrs. Guth lying at the bottom of the stains. Going to her side she found her in an unconscious condi tion. Or. R-itter was hastily summoned and with the assistance of several neigh bors, the injured woman was removed to her bedroom where all efforts to revive her proved futile. She remained in an unconscious condition until Mon day afternoon when she spoke a few . words to her daughter, ad then lapsed into unconsciousness again and in which condition she remained untfl her demise. The deceased was a dau'g.Wter of John and PffHy Ritter, and was born in South Whitehall 66 years, 10 months and 29 days ago. .Bhe was preceded in death a number of yours ago by her husband. She is survived by one son, Oscar Guth, of Wescosvllle and one daughter with whom she resided. One brother, Samuel Ritter of this city, seven gTo-ndchfldren and one great grandchild also survive. The funeral will be held on Sunday iftftermoon at 1 o'clock. Services will be conducted hi Jordan Lutheran Church of which she was a devoted mem'ber. Interment in adjoining' Ceme-
