^Charles Morton Charles Cecil Morton, 78, Loyal- haniia Township, died Monday, Nov. 10,1997, at the Indiana Hospital. BornMuly 9; 1919, in Pricedale, Pa.,- he was the son of Joseph Henry and Mary Bell Nicholson Morton. ' He had lived in the Rupert's Grove area of Loyalhanna Township all of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the South Pacific during World War II from 1943 to 1945, He' was a member of the American Legion in Saltsburg and the Cinch Ciub in Avonmore. Mr. Morton worked in various mines in the area, retiring from the R&P Coal Company's Emily Mine in 1971-j Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Helen M. Deemer Morton, Loyalhanna Loyalhanna Township; four sons: Larry C.i : Morton, - Saltsburg; Leslie G. Morton, Blairsville; Timothy A. Morton, Loyalhanna Township; and Kevin L. Morton, Saltsburg; six daughters, Mrs. Ray (Karen) Kannan Kannan ^Clarksburg; Debbie E. Bair, Loyalhanna Township; Mrs. Victor (Dixie L.) Cessna, Sheloeta; Mrs. Larry^ (Letha D.) Fennell, Loyalhan- • naTownship; Mrs. Stanley (Pam J.) Shearer, Saltsburg; and Mrs. Daniel (Susan D.) Duncan, Brush Valley; three brothers, Harry Morton, Brenizer;"Joseph Brenizer;"Joseph Morton, Brenizer; and Raymond Morion, McKees Rocks; three sisters, Mildred Diven, Midland,' Midland,' Pa; Evelyn Moskel, Brenizer, ahdrLetha Shaffer, Saitsburg; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. great-grandchildren. ' He x was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Alvin Morton, and two sisters, Mary McGinnis and Winifred Piffer. ,Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m.z.Tuesday at the Curran Funeral Home in Saltsburg where services will-be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. John Collins will officiate. '
