DEATH CLAIMS i BUSINESS MAN IN VALLEY HOME A. F. Bedford, 62, Retired From Shoe Business ; in 1918 CsrIMe, Sept 27. A. F. Bedford, 62, a prominent Carlisle business man and organiser of the Bedford Shoe Company of this place, died at his home, 770 South Hanover street last night at 8.20 o'clock. Mr. Bedford was born August 7, 1864 at Centralis. Columbia county. From there the elder Mr. Bedford moved to Alahanoy City, where he was engaged in mining. Mr. Bedford Bedford started his career In the shoe business at Orwlgsburg, where he was employed in the Orwlgsburg Shoe Company. Ketlred In 1918 In 1S90 he came to Carlisle, where on December 12 be organized organized the Bedford Shoe Company. He owned the shoe factory until 1918 when he sold bis interests. Since then he has not been actively engaged engaged in business. He was for many years president of the Carlisle Deposit Bunk aud Trust Company, and was a trustee of the Todd Home for Old Ladles of this place. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Carlisle. He is survived by his widow, his mother, Mrs. John B. Bedford, 87, who lives at his home, and two brothers, J. C. Bedford, of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, and T. T. Bedford, of Los Angles, Cal. of In her said various Episcopal . .by - district grandmaster, of Thompson
