Lubbock Man's Brother Killed In Vietnam War A Lubbock man, 3st Lt. Wayne Griffith, 1606 Bangor, recently received word of the death of his brother, 1st Lt. Robert Robert E. Griffith, in Vietnam. Lt. Griffith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Griffith of Big Spring. Details concerning the death were lacking, but he was killed in combat at 5 p.m. March mdications were that an enemy force attempted to over-run the position which his company was holding. Only recently h e had been decorated with the Silver Star and Purple Heart for courage and gallantry in going to fhe rescue of a fallen comrade at An Khe Dec. 20. He also held another of the nation's decorations decorations of valor, the Bron3e Star Lt. Wayne Griffith, a pilot at Reese AFB, will go to fhe West Coast this weekend and wiil accompany accompany the body to Big Spring for the funeral 5n the Eleventh and Birdwell Church of Christ Arrangements are pending with Nalley-Pickle Funeral Home. Other survivors include his vidow, Linda; and his grand- athers, Elwyn Eanvood of Uvalde and Robert E. Griffith of Stanton.
