Condition of crash victim termed poor CHARLESTON. 111. - A Montrose youth injured Saturday night in an automobile accident outside of Charleston was listed in poor condition today in Champaign. Melvin Pitcher, 15, remained in the Carle Clinic's intensive care unit. Pitcher was a passenger in a far strnrk hv a nirkun trunk ja, the intersection of lllinois 16 j j and Harrison Street Road, one mile east of Charleston. Injured in the same accident were Steve G. Hargis, 22, of Charleston, Michael J. Thompson, Thompson, 16, of Jewett and Brad J. Starwald, 15, of Jewett. Hargis was a passenger in a truck driven by Dave A. Smith, 18, of Moweaqua. Smith was not injured. State Police said Smith was southbound on Harrison Street Road when he ran a stop sign at Illinois 16 and crashed into the side of the car driven by Thompson. Thompson was westbound on Illinois 16. The accident occurred at about 7:50 p.m. Saturday. In other weekend accident, a Gibson City couple was injured injured at 4:05 p.m. Friday in a car-truck car-truck car-truck collision on 'interstate 'interstate 57, three miles north of Illinois 16. Robert C. . and Carolyn N. Davis, both. 46, were admitted to Memorial Hospital Friday and released Saturday. The Davises were injured when , a car driven . by Willie N. Magee, 20, of Gary, Ind., struck the side of their truck, causing them to turn over in the median, police said. '
