William J. Meggison, 55, was a Matawan fire chief WILLIAM JAMES MEGGISON, 55, of MATAWAN, died Monday at Bayshore Community Community Hospital, Holmdel Township. He was a foreman for the Aberdeen Aberdeen Light Truck Co., Aberdeen Township, for the past 10 years. He was a communicant of St. Clement's Clement's Roman Catholic Church, Matawan, Matawan, former chief for Hook and Ladder Company 1, Matawan, and former chief of the Matawan Fire Department. He was a member of the New Jersey Fire Chiefs Association, Association, president of the Matawan Hook and Ladder Company, a member of the New Jersey State Firemen's Association, the Bay-shore Bay-shore Bay-shore Active Fire Chiefs Association, Association, a life member of the New Jer sey State Fireman's Relief Association, a member of the Matawan Matawan Zoning Board of Adjustment, and a Republican County Committeeman Committeeman of District 2, Matawan. Mr. Meggison was born in Perth 'Amboy and lived in South Amboy before moving to Matawan 34 years ago. Surviving are his wife, Arlene Oppizzi Meggison; four daughters, Patricia, Kimberly, and Rachel Meggison, all at home, and Stephanie Stephanie Ferrari, Aberdeen; a brother, Albert Meggison, Keyport; four sisters, sisters, Margaret Madger, Dorothy Ward, and Norene Cahill, all of Spotswood, and Ann Jankowski, South Amboy; and one grandchild. Day Funeral Home, Keyport, is in charge of arrangements.
