She was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell E. Gerhart, who died in World War II. Born in Springtown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Linford G. and Stella (Sell) Wambold. She graduated from Springfield High School, now Palisades, in 1937, and Bethlehem Business College in 1939. A homemaker, she also assisted her husband as a Nationwide Insurance broker. Mrs. Hacker was a member of Central Presbyterian Church of Norristown, where she taught Sunday school, served as a church elder and a deaconess, and led a women's Bible study. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Norristown chapter. In her free time, she enjoyed caring for her rose garden, cooking, and sewing and making outfits and costumes for her children. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Gerald L. Gerhart and his wife, Joan, of Chalfonf and Donald C. Hacker and his wife, Charlotte, of Avon, Conn.; two daughters, Gwendolyn D. Hacker and her husband, Rui Machado, and Jacquelyn L. Korbas and her husband, Tom, of North Attleboro, Mass.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Verna Friling of Perkasie. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1530 Augsburg Dr., Hilltown, where her family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family at West Swamp Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Lutheran Community at Telford, 235 N.
