Riedel Services Slated Today stoa- C. E. RIEDEL Services for C. E. Riedel, 76, 100 S. W. Ave. B, father of the townsite of Belle Glade, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Commun ity Methodist Church here, with. the Rev. H. Edward Garrett, pastor, officiating, assisted by Vicar Erving Baumgartner of St. Philip's Lutheran Church here. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Miami. Friends may pay their respects at Wetherington Funeral Home at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. today. One of the oldest residents of Belle Glade, Mr. Riedel died Tuesday morning at a local hospital following a long illness. A native of Chesaning, Mich., he settled first in Okeelanta in 1919, going there from Detroit, Mich, In 1921 he moved to Belle Glade where he amassed considerable property. In 1925 he laid out the townsite and held a public auction for the first sale of lots in the town. He was active in municipal and civic affairs, serving as a com missioner from 1932 to 1936, and was chairman of the commission for one year. He was organizer and first president of the first loan association in the Glades area, serving as president of the Ever glades Federal havings & Lean Assn. unlil 1955, whea he retired. In 1'j06, he married Miss Hed- wig Reska, who died in 1911, and in 1929 he married Miss Bertha Ransom of Miami who died In 1946. Two children were born of the first marriage, Harold E., of Belle Glade, and Victor W. Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Albert Redmer, Chic ago. Mrs. Albert Muethel, Detroit, nd Mrs. Charlie Redmer, Lake Worth, and two grandchildren,
