Simpson of gallig, Miss., which was solemnized ut 2 o'clock Saturday Saturday afternoon at the home of. the bride's parents, (he Rev. W, W. Chancellor, pastor of the*CaU - vary Baptist church) .performing the ceremony in the presence of intimate friends of the 'family. The room was transformed into an ato- propriate wedding' bower by the ufee of an abundance of -roses and i ferns. The bride and groom were accompanied to the improvised altar by Miss Jessie Commons as briCesma'id and H. H. McClanahan, Jr., of Columbus, Miss., as best man. The bride was radiant in a dress of flowered chiffon in pastel shades, with lace hat and blue accessories, accessories, carrying a bride's bouquet bouquet of roses and lillics of the Galley. The bridesmaid's dress was of pink chiffon and taffeta with large hat to match. As the strains of Lohengrin" Wedding march was played by Mrs, Talbert Taylor, the bride advanced upon the arm of her father to the altar \yhe,re she was awaited by the groom and the best man. A reception followed the wedding wedding Mrs. Venable assisted by Mrs. Talbert Taylor, Mrs. J. M. Robards, Miss Jane Bowers, and Mies Su e Nell Robards, served an ice course to the wedding guests, \Vho included: Dr. and Mrs. W. W. Chancellor, Mi. and Mrs. E. M. Bowers and daughters, Jane and Elizabeth, Mr. tind Mrs. J. M. Robards and daughters, Sue Nell, Mrs. A. L. Commons, Mr. and Mrs. Talbert Taylcr, Miss ,Holen LaGrone, LaGrone, Miss Jessie Commons, Alolphus Clark, Picher and H. H. McClanaham, Miss,'/ -' Jr., of Columbus, TJie bride is the only daughter of Mr. and, Mrs. J. H. Venable and is well known in ' Miami, having resided here since ch'ildhpod. She was a member of the 1929 graduat ing class of, Miami high school. The grocm .is a professor in a college at Sallis, Miss. Mr. and Mrs. Simp son left immediately after the ceremony for a short wedding trip to different resorts en rout to their liew home in Saliis.
