W. E. Melcher Funeral Here Today At 2 William Edward Melcher, 75, of Mexia died Saturday evening at 6:25 in Wortham Hospital. Funeral services will be held today at 2 in the Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ed Spivey of the First Baptist Church in Mexia will officiate, and burial will be in Wilson Chapel Cemetery near Farrar. Mr. Melcher was born March 27,1898 in Leon County and was a retired contractor. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Adrian Melcher of Mexia; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Gold of Elgin, and Mrs. Iris McClellan of Austin; one step-daughter, Mrs. JV Lovell' o^Centerj^two' ''step;' sons, Kenneth Fisher and Doyel Fisher, both of California; one bfother, Ralph Taylor of Pasadena; two sisters, Mrs. D.J. Holmes of Mexia, and Mrs, Emma Cullins of Dallas; 10 grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ed Copely, Joe Copeland, Felix Freeman, M.E.Hudson, Otis Story, and Leonard McCoslin. Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
