 - The Oil Producers Water Company, organized...
The Oil Producers Water Company, organized recently by the Independent operators in the Midway oil fields, yesterday let a contract for the sinking of their first water well. John Gray, the local driller will do the work, which is to be completed in six weeks. Pipe, tankage and supplies have been ordered and the scarcity and high .price of water which, have hampered the producers In this field for many months past will soon be at an end. When the well Is completed much activity in drilling will result. All new development work, as well as a great amount of pumping has been at a standstill. The producers were awaiting the results of the well recently sunk by the Standard and Its success was largely responsible for the contract let yesterday. The new well will be near the Standard's. It Is estimated that fifteen new wells will be started as soon as water is obtainable. As has been stated in these columns before, the Midway producers are now delivering to the Standard on the I!,500,000 barrel contract made some | months ago. The Standard recently I completed its second 35.000 barrel storage tank and has work well under way on a third.
