Local Riders Place in Ronan Range Riders Amateur Rodeo POLSON (ILNS1 -- Several hundred persons were in attendance at bolh day events of the amateur rodeo, sponsored by the Ronan Range Riders, held in Ronan Sim- day and Monday. More than $1,150 in prize money was presented to winners of events. Events and winners were: Bareback riding--(Only one go-around each day) final winners--1. Ted Schall, Arlee; 2, -Bud Connelly, Browning; Bob Wellrnan, East Glacier, and Charles Forman, Poison, ti^ for third and fourth place. Saddle bronc riding--1, Schall, Arlee; 2, Rex Burnside, Kalispell; 3, Walt Vermedahl, Poison; 4, Don Claffey, Polsoa. Winners in the two-day average money were: 1, Schall; 2, Claffey. Aaron Bersley, Browning, and Vermedahl, tied for third and fourth. Calf roping--second day winners --1, Wayne Aikens, Cowley, Alta.: 2, Leigh Herman, Niarada: 3, Bob Darlington, Ronan; 4, Gary De- Saussure, Pablo. Winning time:, 17.6. Two-day average winners were 1, Darlington; 2, Norman Crawford, Honan; 3, DeSaussure; 4, Bill Lake, Missoula. Bulldogging--second day winners --I, Wayne Goss, Browning: 2, Darlington: 3, Scotty Bagnell, Missoula; 4, Schall. Winning time 10.5. Two- day average winners were: 1, Browning; 2, Bagnell, Missoula; 3, Darlington, Ronan; 4, Jerry Hamel, Dixon. Girls clover leaf race: 1, Dorene Magera, Hot Springs; 1, Frosty Bauer, Elmo; 3,' Judy Schall, Arlee; 4, Mary Jane Schall, Arlee Winning tone: 38.4. Entry fees were $10 in riding events, $15 in bulldogging, and $3 in calf roping.
