Bank of Wood River as depository for city funds. No appointment was made to th office of city attorney, leaving th corporation counsellor to perform the duties of both. Retiring Mayo Hamilton was the first executiv in many yean to appoint men fo offices of both corporation coun seller and city attorney. For number of years Manning ha served as city attorney, performln the duties of both posts. Appropriations listed in las year's ordinance, for the fiscal per lod 1936-37, totalled $206,450. Brown's appointment ended period of 12 years' unlnterrupte service In the capacity of legal ad visor to the city for Manning, wh was appointed first under Mayo Tipton.
