Descendants of John George and William Thornton Gfesham held their annual meeting In the Dei-nice, La, clubhouse Sunday, Aug, 6, this historical society Was formed In 1969 to promote the family genealogy and preserve the family heritage. Mrs. Cecil Lowgfy of Ruston, La. received a certificate of award In planning and organization. For her efforts in starting the plans and in getting family members together, President Wade C. Feazle presented her with lovely flowers in honor of the occasion. Working with Mrs. Lowery in attempting to locate family members since 1969, Sherry GritzbaUgh of Bellalre, Tex, was given an award for outstanding accomplishments In Records and Research. Perhaps the two most coveted awards were those given to members doing more to preserve the heritage of the two families for the years 1969-73, Receiving the Feazle Heritage Award was President Wade C. Feazle of South Houston. He was born In San Saba county and was the great grandson of George Feazle and Pamelia Greer Feazle. George moved to Texas about 1854 where he lived the rest of his life In Algerlta community. Wade Is the son of Calvin Feazle and Lula Kefaufer Feazle who married In San Saba. The Gresham Heritage Award was presented to Jesse Gresham of Memphis, Tenn. Recognition awards were given to other officers and workers for their accomplishments. Gifts were presented by the president to Mrs. Lizzie Glnn, 84, of Houston the oldest member attending; Little Matthew Gresham, the youngest present; and traveling the greatest distance to attend were the children of Calvin Feazle who died in San Saba county. There were 117 families present for the annual meeting.
