Welch of Corinne, Box Elder Elder county, have completed bobt training at the marine corps recruit recruit depot, San Diego, Calif, where they were promoted to their present present rank. They enlisted through the Ogden marine corps recruiting station, post office building. . Private Treseder is at home on 10-day leave, visiting his parents. At the conclusion of his leave he expects to be assigned to electronics electronics school at Treasure Island, Calif. The first three weeks of training included instruction in small arms, first aid, field sanitation, map and compass reading and infantry drill. The next three weeks were spent at the rifle range where the new mar- Local Men Train in Various Branches Pfc, Sterling Treseder, son of-fines learned the; fundamentals o£f rifle squad, digging of foxholes marksmanship! and fired for qualification qualification with Garand semi-automatic semi-automatic rifle. The remainder of the eight-week Ffc. Treseder Pfc. Welch training period found them learning learning additional subjects necessary to a marine. These included bayonet fighting, combat formations of a a series of field problems where practical experience was gained through the application of classroom classroom work. » Specialist Course S/Sgt. He has been in the service eight Jim Allison Departs James E. (Jim) Allison, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger B. Allison, 2606 Brinker has departed for Lackland air force base at San Antonio, Texas. He enlisted in the air corps Saturday. He is a graduate graduate of Ogden high school and been employed by the Utah Parts Co. ,
