Charles F. Bofinger Milton Hershey School Names Alumnus Of Year HERSHEY, June 7 — The thirty' second annual commencement commencement of Milton Hershey School was held Monday night in the Hershey Community Theater, Hershey. There are 150 graduates graduates in the 1966 class. The speaker was Dr. Eric A. Walker, president of Pennsylva- lia Stale University. Purnoll Payne was organist. The invocation and Scripture was given by Lester S. Holstein II, director of religious educa lion 1 . The welcome address was given by Timothy A. Day, a member of the graduating lass. ; At the commencement ; exercises exercises at the Milton 'Hershey School Monday night, the Alumnus Alumnus of the Year award ,was given given to Charles F. Bofinger, 47 Woodbine Avenue, Feasterville, Pa. In 1943 he was graduated from the Milton Hershey School in printing. He served the next three years as radioman first class in the United States Navy with the Pacific Fleet. He participated participated in the invasion of the Marshall Islands, Saipan, Okinawa, Okinawa, and Iwo Jima. From 1946 to 1950 he attended classes of the Imperial School of Fine Arts; then became advertising advertising layout artist and art director of Lit Brothers Department Department Store, Philadelphia..From 1950 to 1953, he was assistant advertsing manager and art director director of Strawbridge and Clothier. Clothier. Then he became advertising manager of John Wanamaker of Philadelphia. Later lie bacame vice president president of Petrik and Slephenson Advertising Agency in Philadel- Ma and founded his own agen- y in 1961. In 1962, he expanded by forming a partnership so that he agency is now the Boflnger- Caplan Advertising, Inc. Bofing- •r is president. The agency also operates n eparatc public relations agency, agency, P. R. Concepts, Inc. He was secretary and mem- >er of the board of directors of he Poor Richard Club, a member member of Television and Radio Ad- ertising Club of Philadelphia, and of the Philadelphia Guild of Advertising Men. Mr. and Mrs. Bofinger have wo children, Karen, 13, and Charlene, 10. He is a member of the church council, and n member of the board of direc- ors, Montgomery County Citizens Citizens Council.
