CHARLES D. HAMMAR GLIDDEN — Charles Dale Hammar, 60. of Glidden. died Sept. 24 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Evangelical Free Church in Jefferson, of which he was a member. The Rev. Clyde C. Rowe officiated. Music included "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "Because He Lives", sung by Mrs. Dale Walker, with Mrs. Rowe as organist. Pallbearers were Edward Kavanaugh. Eugene Monahan. Paul Leonard. Carl Roberts, Dale Walker and Duane Kersey. Interment was in the Jefferson Cemetery, under direction of the Slininger Funeral Home of Jefferson. Mr. Hammar. son of Charles and Ethel Kloss Hammar, was born in Greene County Sept. 16. 1915. He was reared and attended rural schools west of Jefferson. On July 8,1955. he married Donna Jean Morton in Churdan. The couple farmed in Greene County until moving to Glidden four years ago. Surviving with his wife are a brother. Wilbur Hammar of Scranton; and two sisters, Mrs. Otis (Ruth) Dickey of Scranton and Mrs. Tom (Wilma) McCurdy of Cooper. He was preceded in death by two infant sisters. Mildred and Helen.
