NEED MONUMENT MONEY. ; Kentucky Confederate Monument As sociation Meets and Mr. Hap- . burn Announces a Lecture By Mr. Wattarson. A FULL ATTENDANCE There was a full attendance of the members of the Kentucky Woman's Con federate Monument Association. In the rooms of the Kentucky Fish and Gatnd Club, in the Courier-Journal building, yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mrs. S. P. Hepburn, the President,, called tlxj meeting to order and made the follow' tug statemetnt as to tbe object of the called meeting. She said: "Ladles, we are called together this afternoon to consult as to the best method of organising to dispose' .o tickets in order to assure a grand suc-j cess, financially, numerically and sor daily for tbe lecture. 'Money and Morals,' to be given by Mr. Henry Waiter- son for tbe benefit of .our association.' The lecture will be given at Music Hal) on the evening of November 8 at 4 o'clock. He has donated everything free, lecture and hall. We were requested by him to Incur no expenses, as be hopes, to realise for the Kentucky Woman's; Confederate Monument fund a sum that will aid us to pay off our debt now due, for the monument. Our debt isf 32,000. The first payment of $10,000 is paid, and we have no more money.. By every member entering heartily and; energetically in the sale of tickets we; can make fine beginning and a good showing toward liquidating our lndebt-: edness. I ask you to push this work." i At the conclusion of her remarks plans for selling tickets were discussed.' All of the members agreed to pledge1 themselves to sell a number of tickets. The meeting then adjourned to report : at the next meeting, which will be at the same place at 11 a. m. next Fri- 1 A lull attendance is requested, ; 1
