New business offers citizen band radios In a state as big and wide as Montana, Citizen Band (CB) radio's are becoming increasingly popular. Reasons are assumed to be that there are more varieties and accessories on the market today, but most likely, in an area with such vast, unpopulated stretches of land, a CB radio is considered considered highly advantageous to safety. Those probable reasons, along with the need in Kalispell for a shop dealing exclusively exclusively with CB radio's and equipment prompted Eric Creekmore's decision to open a shop of his own called Com Tec. located at 1020 East Idaho Ave., Com Tec features an inventory of top quality brand names such as Tram, S.B.D.. Pearce-Simpson, Regency, Pace and Palomar. Creekmore also carries everything necessary for radios inc inc l u d i n g a n t e n n a s b y A n t e n n a Specialists, Turner and Francis, and Turner and Astatic microphones. Creekmore also offers CBer's a full service department covering repairs and complete installations. Having a 10-year background in the electronic business, Creekmore acquired most of his training in the armed services. services. He was a communications techni- cian working on command radio's and navigational equipment. Originally from Ohio, the Creekmore's have wanted to make their home in Montana Montana for some lime. After discovering there are approximately 3,000 CBer's in the Flathead alone, I realized what a great need there was here for a professional s h o p a n d o p p o r t u capabilities," Creekmore said. "And I'd love to see the interest in CB's continue growing because in a stale like Montana, having the right unit serves a basic safety function," he said. Creekmore advises people to be sure, when acquiring CB equipment, to choose the correct unit for their particular needs. Some people need only a standard AM model, while many others need a side band unit. Since opening Com Tec recently, Creekmore quickly is gaining the respect of many local CBer's who consider his shop to be one of the most complete shops in Flathead Valley dealing.ex- clusively in CB's, service and equipment. equipment. recently the is
