i j Funeral Held for Charles Basinger Funeral service for Charles A. Basinger, 62 years old, who died July 14, J was held Monday morning at Roberts Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gordon Spencer, pastor of the Methodist Church'of Stigler, officiating, assisted by Rev. Nelson Galloway, pastor of the Stilwell Methodist Church. Mr, Basinger was born July 7, 1893, at Boonevijle,' Arkansas. He received his grade and high school education at Booneville, and later- a 11 eh d e d Draughon Business School in Fort Smith. " He was a graduate of -Ray's Automobile School, of Kansas City,. Missouri, and operated the first bus" company through Stilwell, Westville, Sallisaw, and Tahlequah' for several years. He was married to Miss Joyce Akin of Sallisaw July 4, 1926, from which time, h,e lived in rural Stilwell: Mr., Basinger retired from active"* business about ten years ago, because of ill health. He was a member of the Methodist church. He was a member of Flint Lodge No: 11, A.F.&A.M., Stilwell, ayd-a-, 32nd degree Mason of Indian . Consistory at McAlester. -He was a .veteran 1 of the first World , war, and ,was a member of thei American Legion Survivors Include his wife, Joyce of the home; one son,/J, D;^ of- Barflesville, . Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs; Herbert Godfrey and Mrs: Franks Cleveland; both of Booneville, Arkansas, and two brothers, B, F. Basinger of Booneville, 'and-George Basinger . of Taft, California. . . Masonic ntes- and Amencan Legionutes were conducted at the grave site at the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson. Committal rites ,were by Rev. Galloway at ' the .'' cemetery f.
