Berard, 41, wife of Burlington railroad passenger agent here, whose body, with a shirt twisted around her neck, was found wedged between the furnace and m the basement of her home. The stranger angle was given by Robert Moore, railroad man and roomer the Berard home. Moore said as left yesterday, he noticed Mrs. Berard Berard was in the parlor, talking to man whom she introduced as Williams." The man was rather poorly dressed and appeared between 30 and 40 years old- Members of Berard family could shed no light the stranger's identity. A daughter, Evelyn, 19, a student nurse, said had found evidence in the basement that the assailant had attempted to stuff the body into the furnace.
