Harry M. Deckman Sr., a longtime resident of Warminster, Warminster, passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2009. He was 85. Born June 11, 1924, in Canton, Canton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Jasper W. and Lena (Sweezey) Deckman. At an earlier age, he was drafted by the Cleveland Indians Indians to play baseball, but was drafted by the U.S. Army to serve his country in World War II. He remained a baseball fan, always for the Phillies. He enjoyed puzzles, fishing, bingo and his trips to the casinos. He was the beloved husband of the late Violet (Reimel) Deckman; dear father of Gloria Boyer (late Harold) of Norristown, Norristown, Dorothy Jamison (late Leon) of Warminster, Virginia Miller (Bill) of Hatboro, Harry Deckman Jr (Eva) of Warminster, Warminster, and Marion Steglich (Bill) of Warminster Also surviving are IS grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; two great- great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren on the way. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Decker Funeral Home, 216 York Road, Warminster, where friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and again from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service.
