republican return's December has today, City, f e r THE MAKING OF THIS PICTURE IS AN ALEXIS LUCE: GLADYS JOHNSTON The c o m p a n y / o f 40 artists making "The Chcchahcos," risked death time and again on the treacherous glaciers and icy trails of the frozen north to record this first and only epic of Alaska on the silver sheet. For six months the company was buried in the fastness of the icy mountains, 4,000 miles from home. One sits in wonder as great sections of glacier, each weighing thousands of tons, fall away from the icy mountains, carrying death and destruction to all in its psth. Nature itself, is the chief actor in the cast; n a t u r e is used i n s t r u m e n t of avcngcnicnl, the the scenic background of a powerful gripping story that tears at the heart-strings; that draws first a tear, then a smile, and brings to in sheltered homes the" real Alaska and its hardy pioneers. President Harding was a guest of the company on location, and requested the premier be held at the White House. A l t h o u g dcalh precluded this, premier was held in the official Washington under the auspices of the United States government. This is a t bute no other picture can boast. It is a picture for the whole family. "The Chechahcos" opens a three-day r u n at the Antlers today.
