Mrs. Nelson, who was the widow of Nels Nelson, pioneer Escanaba grocer, wss born in Varmland. Sweden, January ft. I 860 . Sho had \ been a resident of Bscanaba for 61 j years, coming here directly from j Sweden. She was a member of Bethany | Lutheran parish, and waa active in church affairs, until she became Ill- Surviving are one daughter, Mr* E. R. Gustafson. Escanaba; one brother. Alfred Nelson. Escanaba; two sisters. Mrs. John Orant, Bsca- nsba. and Mrs. Caroline Anderson of Varmland. Sweden; and three grandchildren. LsVerne. Marilyn and Warren (luatafann. The body, which was taken to »he Anderson Funeral Home, will rest in state there In the chapel beginning at noon today. Funeral service* will be held at 2: SO o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. C. Albert Lund officiating, and burial will be In Lakevlew cemetery.
