He was 'the only son of Henry Ford. . Death came at 1:30 a. m., following following ti six. weeki. illness.. . Two of Ford's three sons, all of whom are in <* America's armed forces, were at the bedside, as was his daughter, Mrs. Walter Buhl Ford, IL The other son was en- route to Detroit. Brief Statement A member of the#;family issued the following statement regarding ti>e first death in the Ford family: "Mr. Edsel Ford passed away at 1:30 a, m. at his home. . . following following an illness of.six weeks. "Death was due to a condition developing developing from a former stomach malady for which, an operation was performed 18 months ago. Undulant fever was also present." The funeral has been .tentatively set .for Friday. . . * Ford had not teerr-Sn the best of health for the past several years. In 1942, he was operated on for stomach stomach ulcers, and had never .completely .completely recovered from that ordeal.
