e n the the to to William Prater, Son Of Pioneer, Dies In Paw PAW PAW, Jan. 7--Death game suddenly from a heart attack at his horn; in Paw Paw last night William A. Prater, 77, son of the George Praters, pioneer residents Paw Paw township. The father was the second white child born in the township. Mr. Prater was born in the homestead five miles northwest of Paw Paw Jan. 8, 1866. He attended and village schools and for eight years afterward taught in the rural rural schools of the county. Mr. Prater held numerous offices of public trust in township and county. He was county agent for several years, was justice of the peace in Paw Paw for years,' and at the time of his death was officer. He was an ardent dry and at time he managed a prohibition campaign in the Upper Peninsula. He was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving him are his wife, two grandchildren who lived in Prater home in their childhood, Clarence Tysee, of Cedar Springs, and William Prater, who is in Army at Victory Field, Texas. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock at the Paw Baptist church. Rev. J. R. Stevens, pastor, will officiate. Burial in Wildey cemetery.
