Marion Helsler to Wed Arthur Davis Miss Hazel Challacombo went to St. Louis, Saturday, to attend an aiv nouncement party given by her cousin, Miss Marlon Helsler, daughter daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Hods- ler. During tlie afternoon Miss Helsler made known her engagement to Arthur Davis of Okmulgce, Okla. Miss Hclsler's guests were Invited in for an afternoon of bridgo and en joyed a delightful party. Sunday, Miss Heisler Was hostess to another gathering of relatives and friends, entertaining with the second of a series of parties in honor of her engagement. Among those present present at Sunday's party wero Miss Emma Miller and Mrs. A. Langraf, cousins of Miss Helsler. Miss Hctslor is well known In Alton, Alton, frequently being tho guest of relatives In this city. Miss Heisler is a young woman of much charm and has many warm friends in Alton Alton as well as in her homo city. Her coming marriage to Mr. Davis is of more than passing Interest here, ns Mr. Davis is likewise very well known in Alton where he resided for a period. Mr. Davis Is a graduate of the University ot Missouri and of the Boston Technical School. His home i» in Columbia, Mo. For somo time Mr. Davis lived in Alton, holding a position as chemist with the Standard Standard Oil Company. While hero he had an offlce in the Commercial Building, being secretary-treasurer for "the Alpha. Alpha. Chi Sigma, a luUiqnnl fraternity composed of chomfsts. Ho left during during the past winter to take a position position at Okmulgeo. The marriage of Miss Heisler tu Mr. Davis will be an event of May. j
