DEMING, NEW MEXICO. Withholding Taxes Due Now S. P. Vidal, Collector of Internal Revenue for the District of New MÂ°xiro, has announced that forms for the use of New Mexico tax- Ipiyeis in remitting withholding ! taxes for the quarter ending j tember 30, 1943, have been out in his District. He stressed r( gulation which requires that these quarterly forms, together wirh remittances of tax found thereon, be filed in his office on before October 31, 1943. The New Mexico Collector an- nou.iced that failure to file these returns and pay the tax which therein reflected will carry a mvm penalty of twenty dollars ($20.00). Mr. Vidal went on to that he will be unable to ( oversight, ignorance of the law, , inability to compute deductions, j lack of forms or any similar I cuse as valid reasons for failure ' to file these returns an|I timO P Hart' to TM s . m. the tax within the prescribed Mr. Vidal stated that if taxpayers taxpayers have not yet received they should immediately Air vocational U. S. and request them. Likewise, any requests for information relative to these returns should be sent now, in order to assure promptness promptness in filing on or before the end of the current month. Collector Vidal further announced announced that since the "Current Tax Payment Act of 1943" provides for the depositing of tax funds in banks, the returns, FilÂ°d, must be accompanied by full amount of tax due or evidenced evidenced in the form of certificates of deposit, showing that such have been deposited in the proper banks to the credit of withheld taxes. This return, due on or before October 31st, will be the under this Act and will cover income taxes withheld from wages for the months of July, August and September.
