Williams-Smith vows Miss Iva Lydia Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orval G. Smi'h of 1315 Kingdom, Bethalto, became 'the bride of Gary Wayne Williams in a 7 p.m. ceremony, Saturday evening. White gladioli and greenery decorated the altar of the First Baptist Church of Beihalto for the ceremony officiated by the pastor, the Rev. Keith Stanford. Attendants for Ihe bride were Mrs. Mike Williams, matron of honor and Mrs. Cleve Journey and Mrs. Edward Basham were bridesmaids. John Gilbert, and Mike Williams, brothers of the groom and Melvin Smith attended the groom. The bride appeared in a floor length gown of organza over bridal taffeta. A headpiece of fabric loops and petals trimmed with pearls secured her three tier illusion veil. She carried a cascade of white roses and ribbons. Her attendants wore pastel colored gowns fashioned of silk organza over taffeta. Their two tier illusion veils were secured by fabric petals and flowers. They carried nosegays of multicolored daisies. Tammy Curry was flower girl and Bruce Journey was ring bearer. Ken Evans and Joe Bellitto seated the guests. The bride is a 1968 graduate of Civic Memorial High School. She attended Kitzmiller Beauty College and is employed at Dolores Manning Beauty Salon. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larkin Williams of 1121 Meadow Drive, Cottage Hills, was graduated from Chester High School, Chester, 111. and is employed at Smith and Wesson in Godfrev. MRS.
