Wood River to Pay Judgment EDWARDSVILLE, Feb. 13. J— Circuit Judge Griffith today put off a scheduled appearance in court Friday of Mayor Humphrey end other members of Wood River City administration' to answer charges of contempt of court. The mayor and others of the administration had been ordered by the court to pay a judgment of $6000 won by Margaret Nelhardt of Cranlte City and the Judgment has not been paid. However, this morning Francis Manning, Wood River city attorney, told Judge Griffith that arrangement* hid been made to pay the judgment Monday. The judge agreed for the summonses of Humphrey and others to be made returnable Tuesday, asserting'that the defendants would be held in contempt If- payment was not made. The judgment in favor of Margaret Nelhardt was given on a complaint that she had fallen anc waa injured on a defective Wood River sidewalk Feb. 25,1941. . and
