. 87. Dixieland Dukes To Swing Out At Chautauqua CHAUTAUQUA, N. Y., July 7- If you want to lose yourself in jazz from Dixie, you will not miss the phenomenal Dukes of Dixieland, who will appear at the Chautauqua Amphitheater for two concerts, July 9 and 11 at 8:30 p. m. This promised attraction will provide two varied programs, the second of which will feature requests from the audience. Songs to be included at the performances are "The Saints Go Marching In." "N. 0. Funeral," "76 Trombones," and "Mack the Knife." This versatile group bursts forth with blues, ragtime, circus and marching music, and folk and college songs. Their repertoire covers many different themes appealing to music lovers everywhere. The band is composed of Frank Assunto, who plays the trumpet, Fred Assunto, trombone, Joe Assunto, trombone and banjo. Rich Vlatteson, tuba and bass, Mo Maloney, drums, and Clyde Pound, pianist. With these able players ihe group swings out to bring Jieir interpretation of jazz—American style. In the June 6 issue of Time Magazine the Dukes are described as being the "slickest and most successful of latter-day Dixieland groups." be :o
