WKam Tony <Pete'VEcken William Tony "Pete" Vickers William Tony "Pete" Vickers, 73, of Paris, died Wednesday, pec. 24, 1997, in Medical City •Hospital in Dallas. ; Funeral services will be held 'at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Fry & ;Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel ;with Dr. Michael Lawson and Dr. 'Wilbur Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral .home from 7-8 p.m. today. ; Vickers was born Aug. 10, '.1924, in Pattonville, a son of .'Sidney and Ila Bennett Vickers. •He attended schools in 'Pattonville and Paris. During •'World War II, he was in the .'Army Engineers. On Feb. 3, 11946, he married Norma Melton •in Paris. ; He has been a salesman with ; Meads Bakery in Amarillo, Amarillo Linen Service and with Texas Power & Light Co. in Paris. He was a member of ;Ramseur Baptist Church here and had been a member of the ;Lions Club and Elks Lodge in Amarillo. ' Surviving are his wife, Norma, of Paris; a son, David Lynn Vickers of Raytown, Mo.; two daughters, Patricia Vickers Turpin and Pamela Joyce Pollard, both of Paris; eight grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Named to serve as pallbearers are Hal Henry, Jack Williams, Porter Smallwood, Robert Ross, Gary Duke and Don Parker.
