After many weary weeks of death came as a welcome messenger Mrs. Carrie McCloud, x of Gallia street, at 25 minutes past six o'clock this morning. Mrs. McCloud has been 'ering for some time with brain and fo/the" past few weeks has seen confined to her bed..·'Some ago she fell on the. icy sidewalk and it was erroneously supposed .llness was due to this but, as n yesterday's TIMES, .the disease the cause of the fall. She suffered agony. . ' · . Mrs. McCloud was 67 years old was born in West Virginia. In the earlyliTFs the family movedjto jounty, Ky. Here her father ; was killed ,by a falling Not · many years after this ' Mrs. McCloud came to Portsmouth, and nearly a quarter of .a century has engaged in the' restaurant business. She was burned out twice, pace street, opposite the mayor's office, once on Second street, where Squire Row's office is now. Two years, she moved to the place on Gallia occupied by her at the time~-,of her death ' · - · - · - " Mrs. McCloud was a kind hearted, Christian woman, who was ever L and willing to'lend,-a' helping band any one in sorrow and distress. life was a long struggle against and grief, yet she bore up bravely der it all, being one of those characters who can always look bright side of life. Those who her best loved her best, and mourn loss most sincerely. She was an earn-est working member of Sixth · M. B. church. . , Mrs. 'McCloud's immediate family consisted of two nieces, Carrie and Pearl Jackson, whom she took the death of her sister some two ago. She was the sister of Mrs: White, Mrs. Aaron Clark'.". and Alex Lakeman, of this city, and John man, Morning View, Ky.. and Thos. Lakeman, East Enterprise, Ind. The funeral'will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at the' residence, Gallia street, the services being- conducted by Rev. A. E. Johnson. ^
