LONG ILLNESS PROVED FATAL Clint Woods, 65, Lifelong Resident of County, Victim of Cancer. BORN NEAR NEW..HOPE Clinton Woods,' fi5 .last April and a life-long resident of Tipton county, died at the Emergency hospital Tuesday morning at S:20, death ending a long illness from cancer. Mr. Woods was operated about a year ago and n section of his bowel taken out with the hope that his life could be prolonged, but the disease continued to progress. For the past four days he had been unable to leave his bed and Monday <sveji- ing was removed by the 'Leather- man-Morris ambulance to the [hospital, where nothing could be done to prolong life. The body was taken to the Leatherman-Morris \uneral home to"be prepared for burial 'and" to await funeral arrangements. The body will remain at the funeral home where services are -to be held Thursday afternoon at 12:00, with Rev. L. R. Gray of the iWest Street Christian church, of- |ficiaMng and friends may call at jany time| Clint Woods was horn On a farm near the New Hope church In April, 1873, his parents being Archibald and Mary Woods, and j was reared on a farm. With his father as his teacher, he early learned the value of drainage of Tipton county land and he followed that occupation many years, having* constructed many miles x of Tile ditches in this county. x He was united in marriage to Luceta McNew when a young man. her death having occurred in June, 1926, leaving two children, Floyd Woods of this city, with- whom he made his home for the past ten years, and Mrs. Leila Miller, wife of Roy Miller, of Atlanta. Several months ago the deceased secured an apartment in tlie Sheil building and had resided there alone. (Continued on Page 5.1
