Nancy Darr 1914
S*}LLS LIQUOR TO AVOSI.VN; IS FINED $25 Marshal Fred Smith arrested Richard Manning last week for selling liquor to Nancy Darr, a well-known local character. The woman has been more or less of a nuisance here for some time. She is continually getting drunk, and being found later in a stupefied condition in the street. She has been arrested and fined times without number but would not divulge the source from which she obtained her supply of liquor. When she was taken up this time she was told by the justice that if she did not disclose the name of the party from whom she bought the whiskey, he would sen'd her to the county jail for six months. This frightened the woman and,she "squealed" on Manning. He was brought before Judge Whipple and plead guilty, and was allowed to go after paying a fine of only $25,—Beacon.
