The war between the Four Brothers Society and the On Leong Tongr, in Chinatown, has been stopped. A truce is on now until 9 o'clock next Saturday night, when it Is expected that a permanent treaty will be signed. The truce and the probable treaty of peace are the result nf niAJit of atxenuou witrlc on tiia part of Ye Ting Yung, Chinese Consul, and sixty of the big Chinese merchants in New Tork. The move which brought about the truce was started by the Chinese Business Men's Association in Hong Kong, which supplies nearly all the Chinamen in this country with nearly all their goods. The warring tongs had the el'oico between peace and a business boycott, which would result in the financial ruin of nearly every Chinaman in business in . - merlca,. and they chose peace. In accepting the peace terms Tom Lee, of the On Leong Tong, sent notice to "gun - rren" all over the country. The mission of these men was to kill their unnnnantN in the tona war. i
