Indiana Glass Works
Important Meeting Held In Conning ham's Hall. The employes of the Indiana Glass Works held an important meeting in Cunningham's hall last Sunday. The meeting was called for the purpose of deciding whether they would go to work under the old scal< or the new one adopted at Atlantic City The Union has asked for an advance of 10 per cent, and the abolishment of Sunday night work. The manufacturers will no agree to the advancement and several fac tories have refused to resume work. The local factory hands decided to go to work on last year's scale until the matter is settled. A compromise is looked for, bu should this not happen inside of 20 days al union men will go on a strike. The Indi ana men go to work practically under protest and should the advance be adoptee they will receive the full amount from the time of starting. At Jeannette the men refused to go to work until the matter is settled. A strike is not feared, however, as it is thought an agreement will be reached very soon.
