On Friday last, Mrs. Mary Bacbman, widow of Joseph Bachman, a lady nearly ninety years of age, met with a sad acci dent at Bachman's Tavern, in Washing ton township, Berks county.. It appears that she had left her dwelling to go to tbe house of a neighbor, near by, and while passing along the road was run over and knocked down by a noree attached to i carriage, that came dashing along at a fu rious rate of speed. The horse and vehicle belonged to a Mr. Greis, of Long - swamp, who had sent his mother - in - law home to her residence in Washington township, accompanies by his two chil dren, the horse having become frightened while they were getting out of the car riage and ran away. Mrs. Bachman had three ribs broken, and was otherwise so badly injured that death ensued on Sun day evening, the 13th Inst. The family of Mrs. Bachman, (her maiden name was Rohr), have been remarkable for longev ity, one of her brothers having died a few years ago at 98, and her father, who died twelve or fifteen years ago, having at talned the ve - y old age of 105 years. rotttlown Ledger.
