obit of Baha'i Martha Piltz
Miss Martha Piltz Services were held Saturday in Canon City for Miss Martha Piltz, who died Friday in a hospital there. Members of the Baha’i faith, which Miss Piltz joined in 1913 in Denver, conducted the rites. Burial was in the Rosita Cemetery. Miss Piltz was born in Rosita. She was a member of a pioneer family of nine children that came to Colorado Springs from St. Louis with their mother in a covered wagon. They later moved to Custer County, where they homsteaded on Antelope Creek. She was a tailor and seamstress for many years in Denver, retiring in 1938, and for the past six years had lived in Canon City. She is survived by a sister, Anna Howard, also of Canon City.
