Bridal Couple Given Jolly Surprise When Friends Plan Event Mr. and Mrs. Edward Patock, (Lorena Langley), who returned tu San Bernardino from a honeymoon trip north, Friday, and are es tablished in the Wilson apartments, were tho inspiration of a gay chari vari, planned and held last evening by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jerdon and a company of friends at the Jerdon home at 231 South G street. The Patocks presented themselves at the Jerdon homo in answer to an Invitation for an informal gathering of friends. They found the Jerdon domicile, which was recently completed and has been occupied by tthe family but a few weeks, abloom with lovely flowers and filled with a company of friends and associates of both Mr. and Mrs. Patock in the Harris company. Shortly after the arrival of the couple, Mrs. Jerdon excused herself from her guests on the pretext that she heard her neighbor's phone ringing and had promised to answer it. During her absence, she called the Elks club, where Mr. Patock formerly resided as a member of the "Hall Room Boys", and Invited members of the lodge to join in the affair. Returning, 6he announced that some of the guests, en route to the affair, had had trouble with their automobile and suggested that the assembled company motor out and bring them back to the home. Before the arrival of the Patocks, the Jerdon automobile in which the couple rode had been adorned with a huge banner, which announced to various and sundry that the newly-weds, "Lorena and Ed" were home, and which was so placed that the couple was unaware of its existence until they reached the downtown section and found themselves at the head of a long procession of merrymakers. Following the parade about town, the host and hostess, the honor guests and members of the com' pany returned to the Jerdon home for serving of a buffet supper.
