LICENSE CLERK HUSTLED Alderman Performs One Ceremony and Then There Follows Wedding In Church. Miss Beatrice Davidson, daughter of Frank R. Davidson, of this city, and Thomas F. Ruddy, treasurer at the Poll theater here, decided Saturday night tc waive all parental objections to their marriage and to elope. They took a Laurel Line train to Wilkes - Barre, but before they left this city made the mistake of letting one or two friends In on the secret. Miss Davidson's father was on the next Laurel Line car for Wilkes - Barre J. he young couple had only twenty minutes start on him and he succeeded in finding them in legs than half that time. First he ordered his daughter tc come home with him, but the young people coaxed so hard that the fathor relented and agreed Jo tholr marriage. . Then the trio started looking for the marriage license clerk of 'Luzerne county. They learned that he lived in Plttston and Mr. Davidson aroused him from sleep and arranged, that he leave at once for Wilkes - Barre, so that he might issue a license before midnight Saturday night. A civil marriage ceremony was performed Sunday afternoon by Alderman Pollock in the Wilkes - Barre court house. Yesterday afternoon a religious ceremony was performed in this city by Rev. P. J. Boland in the Cathedral. After the ceremony friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ruddy tendered them a reception in the .Hotel Jermyn, and later they left on a trip which will extend for several weeks.
