appear DODGE OUTPUT UP FOR 133% Increase Noted In Production During ' January DETROIT, Mich. Feb. 8--Production increases for January totaling 1331-3 per cent were announced yesterday by podge Brothers. Orders placed by dealers at the recent national convention la Detroit, it Is said, far surpassed the expectations for sales officials, and practically absorbed the entire original production volume planned for the month. Additional business resulting from th» New York national automobile show necessitated an immediate increase of 331-3 per cent In production of the new low- priced Dodge Six and a 100 per cent increase in the output of the eight-cylinder models In order that this line might maintain Its relative proportion to the six-cylinder schedule. "These increased p r o d u schedules," said C.- w. Matheson, general sales manager, "bring to light the interesting fact that American industry apparently is returning to Its normal stride more rapidly than' was anticipated in appraisals made prior to January 1st by business and industrial leaders In all parts of the country. "In reentering the price field where the outstanding reputation o£ Dodge Brothers was established, an enthusiastic market exceeding even Its fondest anticipation has opened up for the new six four- door sedan, which is the lowest- priced Dodge Brothers car of this model ever produced. Invading, with the new Eight-In-LIne, an entirely new field, we have found the trend of the industry toward medium-priced eight-cylinder automobiles is fully justified."
