SamuelJamesScrivens Dies at Age 69 .. Samuel "James Scrivens, advertising - foreman of Williams- Thomas Limited, Ottawa, died in hospital on Monday afternoon following a short illness. He was 69. . ' i Born and educated in Metcalfe, Ont, In 1877, be was a son of the late Thomas Scrivens and his wife, -Susanna Simser. In 1007 he was married to Cordelia Rlopelle who survives, In Ottawa. He was a member of St Matthias Angli can Church. ' Surviving, besides his wife, are eight sons, Lloyd T., Douglas rL, Grant A., Alfred H., Palmer G.. Raymond W., Ronald E., and Norman F. all 'of Ottawa: three daughters, Mrs. T. Girard and Mrs. E. Fauteaux, both of Ottawa, and Mrs. J. Hoppin, Montreal; four brothers, Alfred G, William H Ormond E of Ottawa, and Albert J., of Metcalfe; five sisters, Mrs. George Am-bridge, Mrs. G. Olmsted, Mrs. Fred Jacques and Miss Bertha Scrivens of Ottawa, and Mrs. R. E. Spldle, Birmingham, Ala. Another - son, Sheldon E- was killed on active service in Italy in 1944. i - The body is at the parlors of A. E. Veitcb and son, 453 Parkdale avenue, from where the service will be held on Wednesday at 1.45 p.m. to St Matthias Church for service at two' o'clock. Rev. C. H. Roach will officiate.
