Mr. and Mrs. Larry Maurer spent several days in Philadelphia. They were accompanied home by Mr. Muurer's mother, Mrs. Minnie Maurer, who spent the weekend here. Pfc. Clyde Sponenberg arrived from overseas to spend a 30-day furlough with his wife and daughter, Sandra. He had served with the paratroopers in the European Theatre of War. Pvt. and Mrs. William Livziey and Strawberry Ridge Mrs. Larry Maurer had the misfortune while preparing the evening meal Sunday of receiving second degree burns. She was turning a roust when it slipped, splashing the hot fat into her face, hair und both arms. She was taken to the office of Dr. Gordner, Jerseytown, where she received treatment.
