James Jr. Bard James Jr. Bard Services for James Jr. Bard, 65, of 1224 Smead St., were held at 2 p.m. today in First Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Bard died at 2:30 p.m. Monday in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Born June 15, 1931, in On ward, he was the son of James A. and Geneva L. Burkhart Bard. On March 25,1950, he was married in Logansport to Orvanda M. DeWitt, who survives. Mr. Bard had been a multi-slide set-up operator at Elco Industries for 27 years. A f 949 graduate of Logansport High School, he had served with the Indiana National Guard for 10 years. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, where he had helped organize Boy Scout Troop No, 213, serving as its first Scoutmaster, and reorganized Cub Scout Pack No. 317, serving as Cubmaster for four years. Mr. Bard also was assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop No. 7. Mr. Bard belonged to the National Rifle Association and collected stamps, pencils and license plates. Also surviving'are two sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Steven M. and Jackie Bard, Pleasant Mills, and Randall L. and Gloria Bard, Logansport; four grandchildren, David and Soth Bard, Pleasant Mills, and Rachel and Andrea Bard, Logansport; three sisters, Mary Seybold, Logansport, Becky Prow, Fort Myers, Fla., and Norma Andrew, Fort Wayne; and one brother, Ramon "Wes" Bard, Huntington. Officiating at the services was the Rev. Horace Smith. Burial was in Bell Center Cemetery, rural Idaville. Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene.
