The fire consumed the large wooden frame amusement building on the Boardwalk housing a merry, go-round and several other conces sions. Traffic was halted on lowar Culver Rd. Cause Undetermined Sea Breeze Fire Chief Fred Zahn estimated damage at $50,000. Cause of the fire was not immediately determined. Edwin Pfrommer, 2850 Ridge Rd. E.., a volunteer from Ridge-Culver, was treated for a foot injury at the scene after a nail penetrated his boot. The structure was burning fiercely when the first fire companies were called at 9:45 o'clock. The park was closed Labor Day and the site of the flro is away from the Inhabited section. The boys told firemen the fire began in what seemed to them a small cardboard box at the rear of the merry-go-round. They said after the flames started there was an explosion and the whole building went tip In flames. In Lower Park The fire was centered in ths lower portion of the park just east of the Ferris Wheel, which escaped damage. Hot stands on the south- side of the road were not damaged. Shortly before midnight the lire was under control but it was expected firemen would be at the scene until early this morning as the embers still burned in parts of the wooden building. Firemen said that in some of the booths much of the equipment used in the Summer season also was destroyed. Besides the Sea Breeze Fire De partment, the Point Pleasant, Ridge-Culver, Laurelton and St. Paul companies were at the scene. Tokyo Rose Jury
