State Colleges Enrollment Tops Early Estimates GLEN BURNIE, Md. (UPI) -- .With'enrollment soaring at some metropolitan community colleges, state education of- ficials] acknowledge' they un- derestimated fall.enrollment at , the state's colleges by several thousand students. Sheldon H. Knorr, executive secretary of the council, said the -figures which represented 6,000 more students than earlier projected are "out of sight." "We do not have analytical data yet) but we Believe part of it is a reversal in the trend, toward high school graduates not going to college," he said.
