- - UTAH. Salt Lake City, Oct. 25. The case of Sarah Cooper, a widow, vs. Brigham Young, after an elaborate argument, was submitted to the jury this afternoon, and the court adjourned until to morrow. It was proved that the plaintiff had rendered service to the defendant as an actress in the theatre, and performer on the melodeon in the Tabernacle, for over ten years gratuitously ; that the $2,000 collected for her benefit on the death of her husband, and intrusted to the defendant, she supposed paid for her homestead, which Young, on receiving the money, obtained for her; but, instead, that Young charged her rent for the whole seven years that the homestead had been occupied by herself, and besides had madeother charges of which the plain till' knew nothing till now, making altogether more than double the amount claimed by the plaintiff. The homestead was improved by plaintiff to $3,000, and is now quite valuable.
