TURTLES ELECT NEW PRESIDENT MEMPHIS, TennA March 30. (Special.) John D. Martin, a prominent local attornoy, was elected president of tho Memphis baseball baseball association to succeed Russell E, Gardner Gardner of St.. Louis, majority stock owner of the club. Mr. Martin was formerly a member member of tho board of directors of tho club. Mr. Gardner was appointed oji the board of directors, and retains all his stock In the club. Tho election of Mr. Martin followed a. letter letter received from Mr. Gardner In which ho tendered his resignation.
